As you move from start idea up into fundraising, it is critically important to become investor ready and set up to provide investors with confidence.
When I joined Reach (B2B & B2C) there was no finance function, yet it planned to trade as an international strategic growth business.
Amongst other things, we set up a multi entity, multi tax jurisdiction, regulated finance department. Light touch procedures were introduced, supported by the implementation of budgeting, forecasting, planning, treasury and risk policies and procedures. Investors in the team and business were kept up to speed through regular communication and reporting.
This enabled smooth due diligence for fund raising and debt funding. It allowed for scenario forecasting to facilitate the growth strategy. The move from static reporting to data insight drove insight and vision. As a team we generated a continual fundraising mindset. We raised £15 million from Investors.
